Day Four of Nottinghamshire’s LV= Insurance County Championship clash with Middlesex at Lord's regretfully has been interrupted by the weather shortly before the scheduled lunch break.

12:35pm: After 90 minutes of uninterrupted play, the heavens have begun to open and the groundstaff have sprung into action.

An early lunch has been taken, with Middlesex 133/3 (of which Sam Robson has 101*) and trailing overall in the game by 382 runs.

1:15pm: The umpires will inspect in 15 minutes' time. The encouraging news is that the square covers are being rolled up, to leave just the hover cover.

1:40pm: In true 'if something can go wrong then it will!' fashion, the rain returned at the exact moment the umpires were inspecting.

The run-up covers are being hauled back into place.

2:45pm: Unfortunately, the precipitation is yet to pause, and remains persistent. The full covers remain on, and there is little the groundstaff can do at present.

3:15pm: Tea has been taken, but the rain continues to fall. There appears to be little prospect of play any time soon.

4:15pm: There are groundstaff on the square and engaged in discussion. Conditions are still very wet, but we await with hope any news from the middle.

5:00pm: Result - Match Drawn

The rain has remained unrelenting and the match has been called off by the umpires. Middlesex and Nottinghamshire finish honours even.
