Lucy Higham and Amelia Kite both scored their maiden Nottinghamshire fifties at Vitality Women’s County T20 Finals Day as the Green and Golds finished in third place following a loss to Lancashire and a victory over Derbyshire.
Their attempt at a second title in as many years fell short after a strong Red Rose side won the semi-final by 10 wickets.
Former Nottinghamshire batter Georgie Boyce made 52 from 44 balls, while England all-rounder Emma Lamb blazed 62 from 34 deliveries, as Lancashire chased down Notts’ 115.
It was a target set, in large, thanks to an 89-run partnership between Higham, who was caught off Lamb for 53, and Teresa Graves, who was eventually bowled by Phoebe Graham for 36.
Having come together at 16/2, the pair hoisted the Green and Golds to three figures before Higham’s dismissal in the 18th over.
With the ball, Sophie Munro proved the pick of the bowlers with an economy rate of six from her two overs.

In the third-place play off, Kite’s fifty came following her introduction with Notts 22/2.
She shared 40-run partnerships with Munro (24), and Rhiannon Knowling-Davies (11), to carry the Outlaws to 124 at the end of their allotted overs.
Two wickets from Rebecca Widdowson, and one apiece for Munro, Graves, and Sadie Hodgson then halted Derbyshire in their pursuit of the total.
Despite 48 from opener Evie Pitman, the Falcons finished 23 runs short, leaving Notts’ young side (five of the Finals Day squad are part of U18s squad) with four wins from eight games this season, including a double over the A52 rivals.
