17 miles separate Trent Bridge and The Incora County Ground, the home of this week’s visitors Derbyshire in the final LV= Insurance County Championship fixture of the first red-ball block of the season.

Both sides have five matches under their belts this season, and whilst Notts sit three places above Derbyshire in the Division Two table with three wins, it is the away side who boast an unbeaten record.

Indeed, Mickey Arthur appears to have revitalised Derbyshire and the early season form of both teams makes for a fascinating fixture.

Every ball of the four-day clash will be streamed live through Trent Bridge Live, featuring BBC commentary with the ever-present Dave Bracegirdle, multi-camera angles, replays, and post-match reaction from the Notts camp.

And there are several intriguing sub-plots to keep your eyes peeled for throughout the match.

Head to Head

Notts have won three of their last four First Class meetings against their local rivals, with their last defeat coming in 2020.

In fact, the Green and Golds’ record since the turn of the century is one worth savouring, having only lost twice in 15 meetings, winning nine and drawing the remaining four.

The breaking of Nottinghamshire’s four-day hoodoo came at The County Ground against Derbyshire in 2021, as Chesterfield-born batter Ben Slater scored a hundred in a 310-run victory.

It was a result which lit the touch paper for Notts, who went on to finish third in Division One after a barren spell in red-ball cricket.

This fixture will mark the 100th between the two sides at Trent Bridge and more history is set to unfold this week, with every delivery available to view online.

Red-Ball Run Festival

Shan Masood, Wayne Madsen and Ben Duckett have been at the heart of a run-scoring rampage across County Championship cricket this season.

In the entirety of the County Championship last season there were 12 scores above 500, while this season has already seen seven just in Division Two.

Masood is Division Two’s leading run scorer having scored 826, while Madsen is fourth with 517 and Duckett sixth with 496.

Trent Bridge has seen its fair share of runs, too, with over 2,000 runs scored in the eight innings played on the hallowed turf this year.

You can tune in and watch every run scored throughout this fixture, by visiting Trent Bridge Live.

Star-Studded Squads

In all, there are seven former or current international Test players in the squads set to go toe-to-toe with each other.

Stuart Broad, James Pattinson and Suranga Lakmal have secured 789 Test wickets between them, and will be looking to make their mark on the game.

Young guns have also been stamping their authority in the early stages though; Sam Connors sits second in the Division Two wicket takers table with 21, while Liam Patterson-White has the most wickets of any spinner in the division with 19.

And new signing Liam Hurt is primed to feature for the first time for the visitors having joined on loan from Lancashire.

The Trent Bridge turf is set to be graced by a plethora of stars, and you can see how they fare live.
