Day three's washout set Nottinghamshire's Second XI on course for an almost inevitable draw with Derbyshire at Lady Bay, the visitors batting out the final day with only three innings possible across the fixture.

Toby Pettman, Matt Carter and Calvin Harrison all picked up two wickets each, however, as the away side racked up 304/9 by close.

Their resumption on 50/1, with scores equal, meant the Green and Golds needed to pick up quick wickets to stand any chance of a result on day four.

It took 18 overs, however, for Harry Came to be brilliantly caught by Ben Martindale at leg slip off the bowling of Harrison for 42.

And the visitors resisted a flurry of wickets, with the only other wicket to fall in the morning session that of Mattie McKiernan.

In the afternoon, Harry Finch made 106 before his departure at the hands of Pettman, with Carter making his inroads as the day wore on.

Three wickets for the addition of three late in the final session did little to affect the outcome of the game late in the day as Derbyshire's lead stretched to 250, before time was called.
