Haseeb Hameed, Lyndon James and Liam Patterson-White have been named in a 15-strong England Lions player training group to travel to the UAE.

The Lions party will be based in the Middle East from November 6-27 and will face the senior side in an intra-squad game as part of England’s preparations for the Test tour of Pakistan.

The recognition marks a first Lions call-up for James, who was a mainstay of the Green and Golds’ title-winning season.

The Academy graduate amassed 890 runs at an average of 52.35, which included a maiden First-Class ton in the North East in April.

He followed that with two further three-figure scores at home, alongside five half-centuries, including a career-best 164* in the record-breaking victory over Durham in the final match of the summer.

Hameed is rewarded for a summer in which he passed 1,000 County Championship runs for the first time since 2016.

The 25-year-old ended the summer with 1,235 runs at 58.80 to his name, second only to Wayne Madsen across both divisions.

Patterson-White, meanwhile, is named in an England Lions squad for the second time in 2022, having made his debut for the side against South Africa in August.

The left-arm twirler ended the summer with 41 victims to his name, including best figures of 5-55, and finished second in the list of leading wicket takers for his county behind Dane Paterson.

The all-rounder also added 379 runs with two half-centuries and was one of five Notts players to feature in every match the title triumph, alongside skipper Steven Mullaney, Hameed, Joe Clarke and Ben Slater.

The trio will come up against fellow Outlaw Ben Duckett, who was named in the Three Lions’ touring party earlier this month.

As well as offering developmental experiences to the players selected, five members of the Test squad will arrive ahead of the Test tour, and three pace bowlers will join the group to continue their rehabilitation from injury.

England Men will travel to Abu Dhabi on November 18 and will play a three-day practice match against the Lions from November 23-25.

ECB Performance Director Mo Bobat said: "It’s great to be able to recommence Lions developmental experiences and the camp in Dubai and Abu Dhabi represents a fantastic opportunity for a high potential group of players.

“While we aim to ensure that Lions opportunities are closely aligned to England’s future needs, we also try to be as individualised as possible with our player programming. Selection for the camp was conducted in close collaboration with both players and counties, and there are a number of players that have been encouraged and supported to take up other opportunities at home and overseas.

"The camp also supports the England Men's team in their preparation for Pakistan, allowing England and Lions players to work closely together in overseas conditions."
