Ben Duckett earmarked maintaining the early innings pressure on visitors Somerset as the crucial element to gaining the upper hand in a tight encounter at Trent Bridge.

The Green and Golds' left-hander struck 75 on the opening day, a second half-century of the summer, as he put on 125 for the first wicket with opening partner Haseeb Hameed (65).

The left-hander enjoyed an entertaining battle with Three Lions teammate Jack Leach and believes the hosts could have had more than the two wickets they ended up with in the evening session.
