Four players from The Blaze have been selected to represent the North across two day and 50 over fixtures against the South later this month.

Grace Ballinger, Kirstie Gordon and Marie Kelly will play alongside teamates from the other three ‘northern’ regions (Central Sparks, Northern Diamonds, Thunder) in the two day, red-ball clash at Kibworth Cricket Club on 11 and 12 April.

Chris Guest will act as Lead Coach for the red-ball side, while Georgie Boyce has been selected as a non-travelling reserve, who will deputise in the case of injury or unavailability.

Ballinger will make way for Kathryn Bryce to join Gordon and Kelly in the 50 over game at Loughborough University on 19 April, meanwhile, with Sarah Bryce and Josie Groves both chosen as non-travelling reserves for the short-format fixture.

Analyst Dan Patey and Team Manager Sally Clarke will also work with the North across both fixtures.

The South team will be comprised of players from Southern Vipers, South East Stars, Sunrisers and Western Storm.

Both games preceed the commencement of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, which gets underway on 22 April.

The Blaze hosts Central Sparks in their opener at Trent Bridge, for which tickets - which are priced at £2 - are available here...
