Heroics from Tom Loten and Dane Schadendorf eased Nottinghamshire Second XI to a mammoth chase of 424 in the final innings against Lancashire at Lady Bay.

Loten hit 184 - the second biggest score in the Second Eleven Championship this season - and Schadendorf 145, as the hosts added 290 for the second wicket.

The partnership, the highest in the SEC in 2023, put the Green and Golds on course to chase an imposing target, having resumed the final day 44/1.

After Schadendorf’s departure, Freddie McCann amassed a swift half-century in support of Loten who himself faced 257 balls and hit 21 fours.

The latter’s demise cued the arrival of Sammy King, who faced 13-balls for a non-nonsense 23, wrapping up victory by seven wickets shortly after tea.
