Notts’ Second XI slipped to a double defeat against Yorkshire despite a half-century from Fateh Singh and three wickets from James Hayes at Worksop College.

Singh, batting at number six, hit 54 runs from 36 deliveries as Notts made 183/6 from their 20 overs, with his knock including six fours and two sixes.

He was joined in a stand of 95 by Tom Loten (44) as Notts staged a middle-order fightback after losing three wickets in the Powerplay.

The target was ultimately overhauled by Yorkshire inside 16 overs, with Will Fraine hitting 107* and James Wharton 68* as the visitors triumphed by ten wickets.

Fraine took centre stage in the Vikings’ other victory of the day, hitting an unbeaten 113 from 62 balls as his side racked up 199/6 when batting first.

Hayes recorded figures of 3/24 from three overs, with Loten claiming 1/14 from two, but Notts ultimately fell 56 runs short of their target.

Farhan Ahmed top-scored for the hosts with an unbeaten 24, with Ben Slater making 21 and Calvin Harrison 20, as Notts reached 143/9 at the conclusion of the contest.
