Freddie McCann blasted an unbeaten 92 from 49 balls as Nottinghamshire’s U18s claimed one win from two T20 clashes with Warwickshire at Lady Bay.

McCann’s knock included nine fours and four sixes, and helped the hosts to easily overcome the Bears’ target of 131 with more than five overs to spare.

McCann made the lions’ share of the running in a 101-run opening stand with Farhan Ahmed (21), with the pair taking Notts to within striking range of victory inside the opening nine overs.

Warwickshire had been restricted to 130/9 from their 20-over allocation, with three wickets for Travis Holland and two apiece for Thomas Giles, Byron Hatton-Lowe and Sam Seecharan.
