A partnership of 94 between Haseeb Hameed and Liam Patterson-White eased Notts to a five wicket victory after James Hayes claimed four wickets against Leicestershire in the Second XI T20 North Group.

The seamer was aided by two wickets apiece from Farhan Ahmed and Liam Patterson-White, whilst Fateh Singh claimed the scalp of former Nottinghamshire County Age Group teammate Rehan Ahmed for 31.

Besides the England leg-spinner, only Lewis Hill - Ahmed’s first victim - managed more than 16 runs for a strong Foxes outfit as they were restricted to 149/9 off their 20 overs.

The Outlaws slipped to 27/2 in reply before the pairing of Hameed and Patterson-White took the visitors to 121.

The latter’s half-century came from 28 balls and included four fours and three sixes before he was bowled by Josh Hull, to leave Hameed in the company of Sammy King to make his fifty, guiding his side home with an unbeaten 61, and 10 balls to spare.
