Australia all-rounder Daniel Sams will be available for Notts Outlaws’ opening three matches in the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

Sams will remain with Notts for the 50-over fixtures against Essex and Worcestershire at the John Fretwell Centre, Sookholme, along with the trip to the Central Co-op County Ground to face Derbyshire Falcons.

The 32-year-old was ever-present during the Outlaws’ Vitality Blast campaign, finishing as Notts’ leading wicket-taker, while also playing a crucial hand with the bat in victorious run-chases against Bears and Leicestershire Foxes.

“Dan is one of the most experienced players in our squad for this competition – and he understands the club and this group of players really well now after being with us for the Blast,” said Paul Franks, Head Coach of the Outlaws for the Metro Bank One Day Cup.

“I’ve known him for a long time now, and I really like the way he plays his cricket.

“I think he can have a real impact for us and get us off to a good start in the tournament.”
