Repeated rainfall forced the abandonment of The Blaze’s Vitality Blast clash with Durham at Trent Bridge with just 4.1 overs bowled.

Grace Ballinger claimed the only wicket of the game, having Suzie Bates routinely held by Marie Kelly at mid-on for seven, as Durham were restricted to 16-1 in the short time that play was possible.

The start had initially been delayed from 11am following morning rain, but an extensive clean-up operation ensured a 15-over game could begin at 12:15pm.

However, despite a short respite, another heavy downpour moved in before the end of the powerplay to formally curtail the game.

Both sides take two points from the clash, leaving The Blaze temporarily joint-top with Surrey, whom they face in a mouthwatering Trent Bridge fixture on Friday afternoon.
