Tammy Beaumont starred in a record-breaking run chase which saw The Blaze chase down 188 with an over to spare to take victory over Durham.

Beaumont scored 81 from 44 balls in a second-wicket partnership with Kathryn Bryce worth 118.

Heather Graham and Georgia Elwiss continued to score freely with Graham scoring the winning runs with an impressive ramp shot.

Cassidy McCarthy got The Blaze off to a dream start, making the initial breakthrough just five balls in as Leah Dobson found Bryce in the deep.

Durham re-grouped though as Suzie Bates and Mady Villiers moved to a 50-run partnership and after the powerplay found themselves 56/1.

The 73-run stand managed to come to an end before the half-way mark of Durham’s innings as Sarah Glenn took the second in almost identical fashion, Villers this time departing for 36.

Glenn soon struck again, bowling Holly Armitage who tried to play across the line. Bess Heath came to the crease and formed another partnership with Bates who moved to her half-century.

Durham continued to attack as Bates and Heath moved to a 86-run-partnership before Kathryn Bryce removed the pair in the final over as the hosts set The Blaze a target of 188.

The chase got off to a slow start, with Marie Kelly caught well in the deep by Lauren Filer off the bowling of Sophie Turner, but Tammy Beaumont soon got into the swing of things.

Her and Kathryn Bryce the score along quickly and moved The Blaze to 53/1 at the end of the powerplay.

The pair continued, Beaumont scoring briskly as she brought up her half-century from 31 balls with a huge six and moved her side to 93/1 at the half-way stage.

The runs continued to flow at just under 10 runs per over before Durham found the breakthrough. Phoebe Turner bowled Bryce for a well-played 39 before Katie Levick then took the wicket of Beaumont the following over.

The partnership was worth 118 runs and put The Blaze into a strong position to chase down the huge target.

A 59-run fourth-wicket stand between Heather Graham and Georgia Elwiss, including 34 from 21 by Elwiss, moved The Blaze to a record-breaking victory with an over to spare.
