Farhan Ahmed has been included in England Lions’ squad for two upcoming four-day matches against India A.
Ahmed, 17, who has taken ten wickets in this season’s County Championship, has been selected in an England representative squad alongside his elder brother Rehan for the first time.
The duo form part of an initial 15-strong squad that will be captained by James Rew, with two matches to be played in Canterbury from Friday 30 May and Northampton from Friday 6 June.
Chris Woakes and Jordan Cox are included as both continue their recoveries from ankle and abdominal injuries, respectively.
ECB Performance Director for Men’s Cricket, Ed Barney, said: “This series against a strong India A side is a huge opportunity for an exciting and highly talented group of players.
“It will provide an opportunity both individually and collectively to excel on the international stage as we continue to succession plan for England’s future needs.”
