Freddie McCann shone for Notts Outlaws with 71 in the second of two back-to-back Second XI T20 clashes in Durham, only for the hosts to prevail in both.
McCann crunched ten fours and three sixes in his 32-ball knock, but only Joe Pocklington, who made 30, joined him in passing 25 as the visitors, chasing 202, could only muster 175-9.
Colin Ackermann and Alex Lees shared in a second-wicket partnership of 148 in spite of wickets for James Hayes, Rob Lord, and Tom Giles.
Ackermann hit 84, while Lees made 74, giving Durham enough to win the first clash despite McCann’s fiery knock and a further contribution of 20 off eight from Ben Martindale.
Later, in a more low-scoring affair that saw the hosts include Jimmy Neesham in their line-up, Pocklington made 59 from 44, but the Outlaws’ 125 was overhauled by five wickets.
Hayes led the attack in the second game, taking 2/24 from 3.3 overs, with his brace including the scalps of Will Rhodes and Ben Raine.
However, veteran New Zealander Neesham, who had returned 1/10 from his 3.1 overs, struck an unbeaten 23-ball 36 to guide Durham over the line with 4.3 overs to spare.
