Akand Gangotra was in the runs but Notts Outlaws’ tough start to the Under-18s’ County T20 Cup continued on the second day in York.

After falling short against Lancashire and a rain-enforced abandonment with nominal hosts Yorkshire on Tuesday, the Outlaws were edged out by Derbyshire and Durham on Wednesday.

Gangotra top-scored with a measured 48 in the latter clash, but the Outlaws’ 148-8 was overhauled by six wickets despite a return of 2/22 from four overs for Jacob Hughes.

Against Derbyshire, Gangotra was one of a trio to make a double-figure score, with Saad Ali the top-scorer, but Notts’ neighbours eked out a five-wicket win in a low-scoring affair.

The Outlaws will aim for a strong finish to the campaign in York when they take on Leicestershire on Thursday morning.
