Wicketkeeper-batter Annie Williams has been selected in an ECB Development XI squad to face West Indies in a warm-up T20 match at Canterbury’s Spitfire Ground St Lawrence.
Williams, who is part of The Blaze Academy for 2025, has played club cricket for Keyworth, and on one occasion scored an unbeaten 250 against Cutthorpe.
She was a non-travelling reserve for England Under-19s last winter, and profited at last year’s ECB Academy Festival with 150 runs - the second-most of any player - at a strike rate of 147.
Right-hand batter Williams also recorded the most dismissals of any wicketkeeper at that particular tournament.
She is included in a 13-player squad to face the West Indies in the clash in Kent, which begins at 2:30pm on Sunday, 18 May.
The match takes place ahead of the tourists’ ODI and IT20 series against England, the first match of which is also in Canterbury, on Wednesday, 21 May.
