Captain Farhan Ahmed produced an outstanding delivery on his way to another eye-catching bowling return, but England U19 fell to a 98-run defeat by West Indies to go 3-1 behind in the seven-match series.

With the hosts well-set at 121-3 in the 28th over after being inserted in Grenada, Ahmed found exquisite turn to beat Brendan Boodoo all ends up and bowl him through the gate for two.

Having also removed opener Tanez Francis, lbw for 51, shortly before he also saw off Boodoo, the 17-year-old would claim final figures of 2/37 from ten overs.

Luke Hands returned 3/63 from his ten, while there were also scalps for James Minto and Alex Green, but Joshua Dorne and Jonathan van Lange both hit 80 as West Indies posted 280-7.

The total turned out to be more than enough as England could only muster 182 all out, in spite of Ben Dawkins making 78 at the top of the order and Caleb Falconer adding 32.

Left-arm leg-spinner Vitel Lawes did the bulk of the damage, claiming 4/35, while Shaquan Belle returned 3/34 as England were bundled out inside 39 overs.

The fifth match of the series, now a must-win for the tourists, will take place on Wednesday 26th November, also in Grenada.
