Tom Moores and Olly Stone will appear in the upcoming edition of the International League T20 in the United Arab Emirates after being signed by the Gulf Giants and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, respectively.
Stone was signed by the Knight Riders earlier prior to the league’s first-ever player auction, which took place on Wednesday this week and at which Moores was picked up by the Giants.
The Giants, who play their home matches in Dubai, were the ILT20’s inaugural champions in 2023 and are now coached by former England batter Jonathan Trott, who has spent several seasons on Andy Flower’s staff at the Trent Rockets.
Meanwhile, the Knight Riders, who are based at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in the UAE capital, will be Stone’s second ILT20 franchise after the fast bowler spent two previous editions of the tournament with Dubai Capitals.
The next edition of the ILT20, which will be the tournament’s fourth iteration, will begin on 2nd December, on UAE National Day (Eid Al-Etihad) with the final on 4th January.
Stone’s first opportunity to appear for his new franchise will be the day after the opening match when the Knight Riders face Sharjah Warriorz, while Moores’ Giants start their campaign at home to MI Emirates a day later.
