Jack Haynes has been named as Nottinghamshire’s John Pye Auctions Player of the Month for August, while Orla Prendergast has earned The Blaze’s identical accolade for September.
Haynes scored 473 runs across eight Metro Bank One Day Cup games in August at an average of 59.12, with his crowning glory being a magnificent 124 from 103 balls against Glamorgan.
Amassing five scores above fifty in total, Haynes finished comfortably clear as the Outlaws’ leading run-scorer in the competition.
Meanwhile, Irish all-rounder Prendergast, who returned to The Blaze in September following an earlier stint this summer, struck 180 runs in four innings, as well as claiming four wickets.
She made a quickfire 46 to set up victory at Somerset, before playing a crucial lynchpin role for 67 in seeing off Durham by four wickets, a win that was instrumental in securing an eventual home semi-final.
Prendergast has already returned to Ireland and was honoured virtually, but Haynes was presented with his award in person by Milly Bennett of John Pye Auctions prior to the start of Nottinghamshire’s Rothesay County Championship fixture against Warwickshire.
