Farhan Ahmed hit an unbeaten century as Nottinghamshire’s Second XI made a strong start to their three-day friendly against Sussex.
The right-hander hit nine fours and three sixes in his unbroken 124-ball stay at the crease, sharing in a 195-run partnership with Joe Pocklington, who was 82 not out as Notts declared their innings closed on 346/4.
Notts’ declaration left nine overs for the hosts to negotiate before stumps, with opener George Thomas removed by James Hayes for 17 after 6.5 overs.
The hosts reached 47/1 at the close, trailing by 299 runs.
