The best men’s and women’s players in the world will be returning to The Hundred this summer, with Trent Rockets’ eight pre-Auction Direct Signings and Retentions among them.
Peter Moores has added big-hitting Australian Tim David, England opener Ben Duckett, and New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner, and retained batter Tom Banton, for the Rockets Men.
Meanwhile, the Rockets Women, led by Chris Read, have retained all-rounders Nat Sciver-Brunt, and Ash Gardner, while signing Australia seamer Kim Garth and England opener Sophia Dunkley.
Alongside them, Jos Buttler, Ellyse Perry, Jofra Archer, Laura Wolvaardt, and Rashid Khan will all be back in action.
The likes of Dewald Brevis, Marco Jansen, Lucy Hamilton and Mitchell Owen will also come on-board for their first involvement in The Hundred.
Altogether, 60 players have been snapped up in the pre-Auction phase, with teams able to add to their squads further at The Hundred Auction in March, the UK’s first major sport auction.
The Auction is replacing the draft system, with set salary tiers, that was used for the five previous editions of The Hundred.
Teams instead now have a total salary pot to spend on their entire squad, but were permitted to make up to four overseas or England-contracted player signings or retentions before the auction.
The overall pot in The Hundred Men’s Competition increased by 45% for the 2026 season, rising to £2.05m per team.
Meanwhile, the salaries in The Hundred Women’s Competition increased by 100% for the 2026 season, rising to £880,000 per team.
A specific amount of money was removed from those pots for every direct signing or retention made by a team, depending on whether they have signed three of four players in the pre-Auction period.
The date for The Hundred Auction will be announced next week, while fixtures for the sixth edition of The Hundred will be shared on Tuesday 27th January.
