Nat Sciver-Brunt and Tim David are proven winners.
Between them, the duo have lifted ten trophies in their combined careers, a haul that includes three Indian Premier League wins, a World Cup, and two Big Bash League triumphs.
David’s story is particularly blockbuster-worthy; he is famously without a single First-Class appearance to his name, yet has appeared in, and won, franchise tournaments across the globe.
Born in the south-east Asian city-state of Singapore, David was brought up in Western Australia, and in 2022 switched from representing his birth country to his adopted home.
He has developed into a middle-order power-hitter of the highest quality, and possesses a CV that includes appearances in no fewer than 11 short-format tournaments.
Having lifted The Hundred trophy with Southern Brave in the competition’s inaugural year in 2021, David has gone on to earn a medal in four other tournaments.
Most notably, he was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad that won the IPL for the first time in 2025, and he is also a current Big Bash champion, with Hobart Hurricanes.
Poetically, both of those last two statements are almost exactly true for Sciver-Brunt as well.
She too won the most recent edition of the Women’s Big Bash League with the Hurricanes, and is also a current champion in India, having twice won the WPL with Mumbai Indians.
Her start in life is also curiously similar to David’s too; born in Asia - in Tokyo, Japan in her case - she moved across continents as a child and grew up, partly, in Surrey.
She won the biggest prize of all when England secured the Women’s World Cup at Lord’s in 2017, and now has almost 300 caps for her nation.
In April 2025, she was appointed as Three Lions captain, replacing the outgoing Heather Knight, and later that year led her side to the semi-finals of the World Cup.
The duo’s respective cricketing journeys began thousands of miles from Trent Bridge, and have taken in thousands more as they have forged their glittering careers.
Now, the duo will join forces again in West Bridgford, bidding to repeat their double triumphs seen in Hobart.
