Current IPL champions Nat Sciver-Brunt and Tim David have become Trent Rockets’ first direct signings ahead of the sixth edition of The Hundred in 2026.
England captain Sciver-Brunt, 33, is the most prolific batter in the history of The Hundred with 1,223 runs, and will continue her record of only ever having played for the Rockets in the competition.
Meanwhile, 29-year-old David is widely renowned as one of the most destructive short-format batters in the world, having hit over 6,000 career T20 runs at a strike rate north of 163.
Both players are current champions of the WPL and IPL, with Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively, and of the Big Bash League, both with Hobart Hurricanes.
“Trent Bridge has always been my home in The Hundred, and I had no hesitation about returning to the Rockets in 2026,” said Sciver-Brunt.
“I’ve loved playing here, not least because of the amazing fans we get supporting us, and I can’t wait to step out for the Rockets again at the start of The Hundred’s new era.”
David is also a former champion of The Hundred, having lifted the trophy with Southern Brave in the inaugural season in 2021, and arrives with extensive global franchise experience.
A specialist in the finisher role, he recently finished as the top scorer in the Abu Dhabi T10, and struck 98 from just 30 balls in the final as his UAE Bulls side emerged as champions.
“I’m excited to be heading to Trent Rockets for The Hundred,” said David.
“Joining a new team is an exciting challenge and I’m hungry to bring success to Trent Bridge.”
Sciver-Brunt and David have signed for the Rockets prior to March’s inaugural player auction, which in 2026 is replacing the draft system, with set salary tiers, that was previously used.
Teams instead now have a total pot to spend on their entire squad, but are permitted to make up to four overseas or England-contracted player signings or retentions before the auction.
A set amount of money is removed from that pot for every direct signing made.
“We’re thrilled that Nat, one of the finest players in the world, has agreed to return for a sixth season with Trent Rockets,” said Women’s Head Coach, Chris Read.
“Her exceptional record in The Hundred and across the wider game speaks for itself, and she will continue to be an enormously valuable part of our dressing room!”
Men’s Head Coach, Peter Moores, added: “It feels like we’re signing Tim at a time when he’s coming into the peak of his career.
“He has the ability to win a game from any position and has shown recently his ability to bat higher up the order, as well as in his customary role of finisher.
“Having that level of quality in our batting line-up is exciting for everyone involved in the Rockets.”
