Legendary fast bowler Katherine Sciver-Brunt will take her first job in cricket since retiring from playing after being confirmed as an assistant coach of Trent Rockets Women for the 2026 edition of The Hundred.
Sciver-Brunt, who was awarded an OBE for services to cricket last month, is still England Women’s second-highest wicket-taker across all formats, having claimed 335 scalps for her country.
“The time has come for me to step back in to a role within cricket. I’ve had a wild three years since retiring trying to figure out what life looks like for me now as a mum!” said Sciver-Brunt, who played for the Rockets between 2021 and 2023.
“The first place I thought of was the Trent Rockets. Trent Bridge is such a special place, and having been involved as a player with the Rockets before, coming back as a coach was an opportunity I just couldn’t turn down.
“I’m moving in to a new era, and I know coaching and mentoring players of this standard will be something I’ll love.
“I’m really excited to be on the other side of the fence and to finally come back to The Hundred. I can’t wait to get going and work with this special squad.”
Sciver-Brunt has been confirmed as an assistant to Head Coach Chris Read, with former Nottinghamshire spinner Graeme White also joining Read’s team as fielding coach.
White, who called Trent Bridge home as a player for four years, took 92 wickets across all formats for Notts, and was part of the Outlaws squad that won the 2013 Yorkshire Bank 40.
Trent Rockets Men have also added the final member of their coaching staff, with former South Africa Men’s white-ball bowling coach Anton Roux joining as an assistant to Peter Moores.
Roux, who has also spent time coaching with Sri Lanka Men and Delhi Capitals in the IPL, has previous associations with Trent Bridge too, having been a pathway coach between 2020 and 2022.
