On Friday 3rd July, we welcomed our Junior Journalist, 12-year-old Jack, to the Trent Bridge press box for his media experience day.

Jack's family placed the winning bid in John Pye Auctions' Christmas Auction for the Trent Bridge Community Trust, with all proceeds going to Nottinghamshire's official charity.

Jack and family watched the game from the exclusive vantage point of the Trent Bridge press box, before Jack interviewed star bowler Olly Stone at the end of the game.

In the first over of the match, Liam Livingstone got Joe Clarke out caught and bowled.

During the powerplay, Munsey hit 4 fours in one over off Aspinwall and Haynes hit 2 big sixes off Liam Livingstone and James Anderson.

6.5 overs in and Shadab Khan got the breakthrough by getting Jack Haynes lbw.

 

At the halfway point the Outlaws are 78-2 - Munsey 47* Moores 11*

Munsey was hitting boundaries all over the stadium and scoring heavily off it. At 10.4 overs Munsey reached his half-century at 50* (37).

George Munsey was then caught by James Anderson at mid-off off Jack Blatherwick’s bowling.

 

Three-quarters of the way through Notts’ innings and the home team are 134-3 - Moores 36* Linde 26*

No breakthroughs for the Lightning as Notts were playing with intent.

Shadab Khan came on to bowl with Linde hitting 2 sixes in one over into the Bridgford Road Stand.

In the 17th over Tom Moores had to make his way back to the dressing room by being caught by Joe Moores at deep mid-wicket.

 

At the end of Notts’s innings, they scored a grand total of 181-6 after the full 20 overs - Patterson-White 6* McCann 8*

Linde was caught by Hurst and bowled by James Anderson.

McCann came to the wicket and scored 8 runs off 2 balls and a leg-bye to finish it, giving Notts a decent innings for the Lightning to come and chase.

 

Lancashire started off strong. After 5 overs they were 45-1 - Livingstone 1* Jennings 26*

Notts brought on Linde to bowl and the breakthrough was made, Jones stumped by Tom Moores in the 4th over.

The Lightning were 56-1 after the powerplay.

 

10 overs in Lancashire are 88-2 - Livingstone 24* McDermott 6*

Patterson-White with the breakthrough, getting Keaton Jennings out caught by the sub with him scoring 42 off 29.

McDermott’s first boundary was a 6 over cow corner off Benny Howell, giving Lancashire a boost.

 

15 overs into Lancashire Lightning’s run chase at Trent Bridge, they require 46 to win - Livingstone 41* Moores 14*

Liam Patterson-White got another wicket, his second of the match, getting McDermott out caught at cow corner from Haynes.

15.4 overs in and a unbelievable catch over the boundary from McCann and then throwing it back over to Patterson-White, bowled by Benny Howell, got Livingstone out.

 

Lancashire require 9 off the last over - Hurst 1* Moores 29*

Hurst hit a one, then Moores tried to hit 6 to deep midwicket but was caught by Haynes.

4 required of 1 ball. They tried to run a 3 to tie but Olly Stone knocked the stumps down, runout.
