Kevin Shine reflected favourably on a high-quality first day against Somerset at Trent Bridge as the Nottinghamshire attack worked hard to take seven visiting wickets.

Shine assessed conditions, praised the attack as a whole, and provided an insight into the changing mindset of a bowler from T20 cricket back to the duel of red-ball action.

He was complimentary of Somerset’s Jordan Hermann and Thomas Rew, with the former making a century, but said he was pleased overall with his attack’s efforts.
