Giant seamer Kyle Jamieson is set to grace Trent Bridge in June after he was included in New Zealand’s 19-strong squad for their upcoming tour of England.

A back injury has meant that Jamieson, who stands at a towering height of 6’8’, has not played a Test in over two years, but he still possesses a sterling Test bowling average of just 19.75.

However, he is set to roar back to the pinnacle of the game in Nottingham this summer, and he is joined in returning to the Black Caps squad by legendary batter Kane Williamson.

Williamson returns to international cricket after missing ODIs against India in January and Bangladesh in April, and needs 539 runs to become the first New Zealander to 10,000 in Tests.

Given that he will have three matches before the Trent Bridge Test between 25 and 29 June - one against Ireland and two against England - he could achieve the feat in Nottingham.

The squad also includes Will O’Rourke - who stands at a similar 6’4” and in October 2024, claimed seven wickets to see his country to their first Test win in India since 1988.

Elsewhere, the uncapped Dean Foxcroft earns a spot after impressing on the aforementioned ODI tour of Bangladesh, and in-form Plunket Shield-winning batter Henry Nicholls returns.

Tom Latham will lead the travelling group, which will depart New Zealand for Belfast on 22 May, before moving on to England in time for the first Test at Lord’s on 4 June.

Days one to three of the Trent Bridge Test are sold out, but a limited number of tickets remain available for day four on Sunday 28 June.
