Lucy Higham and Sarah Bryce have been selected in the PCA Team of the Month for September after helping The Blaze to an unprecedented trio of trophies.
Higham, 28, was named player of the match in the Metro Bank One Day Cup final after her 4/49 saw The Blaze to a three-wicket win over Hampshire in their treble-sealing victory.
That capped off a September in which she totalled ten wickets, also snaring four in a comfortable six-wicket success against Somerset at Trent Bridge.
Meanwhile, Bryce struck two unbeaten half-centuries in four September outings, top-scoring with 70 not out as The Blaze thrashed Essex by nine wickets.
She also added 54 not out in the aforementioned win over Somerset, before contributing an important 39, in a stand of 95 with Tammy Beaumont, in the final in Southampton.
The PCA’s MVP system compares player performances against expected outputs for each match, adjusting for venue conditions using CricViz data.
The result is a ball-by-ball ranking designed to reflect true performance, with every player gaining a points total that earns them selection to the final, realistically balanced team.
Higham collected 47.39 points and Bryce posted a haul of 46.09, with the side captained by Hampshire’s Amanda-Jade Wellington, who earned 76.76 points.
