Brett Hutton said that “everyone wants to be the man to put their hand up” in the Nottinghamshire dressing room after an opening day full of fight in Hove.
Hutton led a lower-order recovery by hitting an unbeaten 59 and joining Tom Giles in adding 72 for the ninth wicket, and described his teammates as “warriors.”
He went on to discuss the calmness of Giles under pressure, his own approach to his innings, and how Notts will be taking confidence from the manner of their fightback.
