The PCA Teams of the Month for August have been revealed, with no fewer than four players from Nottinghamshire and The Blaze included.

Joe Clarke, Kyle Verreynne, and Olly Stone are all named in the men’s side, while the women’s XI features Kathryn Bryce.

Clarke, 30, enjoyed a fine month across formats with the bat, notably hitting a sparkling 150 in tricky conditions against Warwickshire in a County Championship clash at Edgbaston.

That followed a crucial 95 that helped Notts to a three-day win over Surrey at the Kia Oval a week prior, while he also hit two fifties in Birmingham Phoenix colours during The Hundred.

South African wicketkeeper Verreynne, also 29, was especially productive in the Metro Bank One Day Cup as he totalled 478 all-format runs across August at an average of 59.75.

The 50-over format was where he found the most joy, notably hitting a masterful century in a quarter-final win over Yorkshire, but also striking three further fifties, one unbeaten.

Meanwhile, fast bowler Stone, 32, claimed 21 wickets at just 15.29 apiece across the One Day Cup and the Championship, including two separate hauls of five in consecutive games.

Notably, he returned match figures of 10/94 in a three-day win over Surrey at the Kia Oval, becoming the first Notts bowler to take ten at the venue since Harold Larwood in 1936.

Finally, all-rounder Bryce takes her place in the women’s team after hitting 275 runs, with a top score of 136 - a new career-best - and taking 12 wickets across all formats.

Her month was capped off by being crowed a Vitality T20 County Cup champion as she took 4/18 in the final against Surrey to see The Blaze to a second piece of silverware this year.

The PCA’s MVP system compares player performances against expected outputs for each match, adjusting for venue conditions using CricViz data.

The result is a ball-by-ball ranking designed to reflect true performance, with every player gaining a points total that earns them selection to the final, realistically balanced team.

Bryce bats at three in the women’s side, which is captained by Annabel Sutherland, with 90.95 points, while Clarke and Verreynne are at four and five in the men’s XI, respectively.

The former collected 121.76 points, while the latter garnered 97.06 and Stone rounded out the Notts selections to the side, which is captained by New Zealand opener Tim Seifert, with 89.90.
