Fateh Singh, a left-hand batter and slow left-arm spinner was born in Nottingham on 20 April 2004; in October 2021, whilst still just 17, Singh signed a professional contract with Nottinghamshire, committing him to the club until the conclusion of the 2023 season.  That contract was renewed for two more years in November 2023 on the strength of his performances in the Seconds and on his occasional forays into the First XI.

The all-rounder shone in 2021, taking 32 wickets across 13 matches for the county’s under 18s whilst also averaging 25.89, including two fifties, with the bat. He was a  regular in the club’s Second XI, as well as earning first-team recognition in the Royal London Cup, on his way to winning the Charles Vernon Price Memorial Award for the most improved Academy player.

In his second List A game for Notts, Singh scored 21 in testing circumstances against Glamorgan at Cardiff. His ten overs for 33 runs proved critical as the Outlaws concluded the tournament at Grantham with a two-wicket victory over Northamptonshire. His performances for Notts in 2021, and for the Midlands at the ECB Super 4s, earned him a place in England’s Young Lions team for a six match 50-over series against West Indies, taking four wickets in four matches.

Fateh Singh has risen through the Notts age group ranks, making his first appearance within the county’s age group setup as a 10-year-old.  As a 16-year-old he made his debut for the Second XI; he also impressed for the Academy with 28 wickets in all formats last season, averaging just 11.57 and earning the right to represent Midlands in the ECB super 4s tournament.

Singh first started playing cricket with the Young Lions CC, the Nottingham based cricket club of Indian heritage founded by his father. Since 2019, Singh has represented Cavaliers and Carrington CC in the Notts Premier League.
