John Kettleband, born in Radford on 22 July 1801, first appears in local cricket records playing for the Pelican Club in 1821.  No other local club records could be found but Kettleband played a dozen games for the Nottingham Old Club, the first of which was away v Bury in September 1825.

His highest recorded score was 39 versus Sheffield in 1831 and the last of his matches for the Old Club was also against Sheffield a year later.  In his 12 games, he made 229 runs at 10.90 and took one catch; he is not credited with any wickets.

His death is given as 3 April 1834 but very few details of this cricketer are available.
