Making his Second Eleven debut as a fast medium bowler in 1989, Chapman joined the full time Notts staff in 1992.
He made his fist-class debut the same summer against Warwickshire at Edgbaston when both Lewis and Ciarns were absent through injury.
In 1994 he was not seen at all in the Fist Team, but in 1994 played three first-class and five Sunday League games.
In 1995 he played in eight first-class games but his wickets cost over 70 runs each.
Last season he played in the senior side against Oxford and against the South Africans, taking five wicket sin the latter game, including dismissing the opening batsman, Liebenburg for 0 in each innings.
