Nottinghamshire have signed 22 year old Northants all-rounder Graeme White on a two-year contract.

The left-arm spinner made his first class debut against Derbyshire in 2006 after graduating from the Northants academy.

“We wanted to get a young spinner on board and Graeme is the ideal acquisition considering the quality of player that he found himself behind at Northants,” said Nottinghamshire Director of Cricket Mick Newell.

“Graeme has continued to improve his game and we’ve kept a close eye on that. He is a good batter and a useful fielder and he can improve us in all forms of the game. We’re confident that he is ready for regular first team cricket.”

White represented England in the 2006 ICC Under 19s World Cup. Alongside Samit Patel, he will give Notts a second spin option in four day cricket which has been lacking since Graeme Swann's rise to prominence in the England team.
