The Academy gained revenge on the visitors Notts & Arnold, the only side to have defeated them this season, with an overwhelming 178 run victory on Saturday.
 
Notts & Arnold asked the Academy to bat first and slipped to 8-2 within the two overs losing Shafique and Tilcock both to Ian Flood.
 
Ben McGuire then took control alongside Sam Wood and the total had reached 150 before the next wicket fell, Sam wood having contributed 47 to the third wicket stand of 142.
 
Ben McGuire batted to regain the initiative with 50 from 45 balls and then accelerated to reach100 from 72 before being out for 115 with 4 sixes and 12 fours from 80 balls.
 
Akhil Patel hit a quick fire 47 from 24 balls but then the innings subsided to 287 all out with Jake Ball hitting 22 from 15 balls towards the end of the innings.
 
Ian Flood took five wickets against the Academy for the second time this season with 5-61. The visitors being the only side this season to have bowled the Academy out, doing so in both matches.
 
The Notts Academy bowlers were soon amongst the wickets and none of the visiting batsmen were able to get going as they were dismissed in 27.5 overs for 109. The wickets were shared by all the bowlers; Akhil Patel 2-1, Will Jones 2-14, Jake Ball 2-26 Adam shepherd 2-24, Bobby Gamble 1-8 and Dominic Harvey 1-24
 
The final league game takes place against Caythorpe at Caythorpe next Saturday at 12.30pm and the Academy will play Radcliffe on Trent at Eastwood in the Champion of Champions fixture on Sept 19th start 12.30pm.
