Nottinghamshire’s Second XI were in a precarious position heading into the final day of their Second Eleven Championship game against Derbyshire at Swarkestone. 

They ended the second day on 102-7 in their second innings, just 54 runs ahead of the home side with Lyndon James and Matt Carter at the crease. 

In their first innings, a run a ball 57 from Luke Wood and another half century from James left Notts all out for 217. 

Derbyshire made 275 in reply with wicket-keeper Harvey Hosein top scoring with 69 whilst Matt Carter was the pick of the bowlers for Notts, taking four wickets for 68 runs in his 24.4 overs.
