Notts Outlaws are looking to extend thier winning run in the Royal London One-Day Cup to three games as they visit their home away from home, Welbeck, on Sunday.

Peter Moores feels Notts are back on track after picking up their second win of the week on Friday at Edgbaston.

Thanks to a century from Billy Root, his first in county cricket, half-centuries from Steven Mullaney and Michael Lumb, plus a determined performance from the bowlers, Notts defended a score of 303 for six to move up to fourth place in the North Group.

“We’re delighted to get the win there (at Edgbaston) as we knew how tough it would be.

“We’ve not yet found the perfect performance as there are still areas we can improve upon, but that’s our aim and we are working hard to do that.

“Obviously, it was very pleasing to see Billy Root play like that & deservedly get his hundred and I thought Steven Mullaney played it beautifully whilst he was at the crease.

"The tempo he played at was just what was needed at the time.”

The Outlaws are undefeated at their newest out-ground following previous wins against Warwickshire & Derbyshire. It's a venue the Outlaws relish visiting, according to Moores.

“Welbeck is a lovely venue to play at and the players very much enjoy going there. It’s a good wicket and a fast-scoring ground, as we’ve seen in the past.”

“We’ve had large crowds come out and give us fantastic support there. The weather forecast looks to be good for Sunday, so we hope that people will again come along, see us play and enjoy the experience.”

Notts Outlaws currently sit just outside the top three qualifying positions, but are level on points with Sunday’s opponents one place above them in the table.

“This is a real chance for us to make further strides forward,” said Moores. “But Leicestershire will be tough opponents and we’ll take nothing for granted.

"They’ve already picked up a couple of very good wins in the group. We know what we’re up against and we will be looking to play some good cricket against them."

Moores has named a squad of 13 for the match against Leicestershire Foxes with Greg Smith and Brett Hutton being included alongside the eleven that played against Warwickshire on Friday.
