Riki Wessels will join Samit Patel in the Pakistan Super League after being recruited by Peshawar Zalmi.

The Notts Outlaws batsman won the Hong Kong T20 Blitz earlier this month and has replaced West Indian Evin Lewis for the tournament in February and March.

Teammates of Wessels, 32, will include former Outlaw Tamim Iqbal, Shakib Al Hasan, Dwayne Bravo and Chris Jordan.

Last year’s top run scorer for the Outlaws in T20 Blast (now Vitality Blast) said: “Playing in Pakistan is an exciting challenge that I’m looking forward to.

“I’ll be testing myself against some of the best in the world, and it’s an opportunity to get in some more match practice ahead of starting the new county season with Notts.

Patel has already been recruited by Islamabad United, and both players will fly out to join their squads this weekend.
