Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican ran through the England Lions batting line-up as the West Indies A took as firm control of the second unofficial Test at Sabina Park, Jamaica.

He followed up his crucial 7-33 in the first meeting between the two sides at Trelawny – which the hosts won by two wickets – with 8-34 off 20 overs.

Having been put in, Keaton Jennings (28) and Haseeb Hameed (23) put on 51 for the first wicket and Joe Clarke made a composed 56, but Mason Crane with 12 was the only other player to reach double figures.

Notts’ Paul Coughlin was one of three players to fall for a duck, as he was caught by Jermaine Blackwood off Warrican, as the Lions were 145 all out.

In reply, the West Indies A put on 72 for the first wicket as John Campbell (47) and Kieran Powell (59) scored freely.

Spinners Jack Leach (2-53) and Liam Livingstone (2-51) helped peg the West Indies back to 128-4, but Jahmar Hamilton (17 not out) and Shane Dowrich (20 not out) moved the hosts on to 159-4 at the close, a lead 159-4 of 14 with six wickets in hand.
