The hots won the toss and chose to bat first, but no home batsman reached 25 as they were shot out for 100, with Josh Poysden finishing with 3-24 and Alex Thomson taking 3-4.

The Bears then knocked off the runs in just 12.1 overs as Ed Pollock made 42 and Liam Banks an unbeaten 45.

Tom Keast (12) was the first to go as he opened with Matt Carter, edging Ollie Hanon-Dalby to keeper Alex Mellor, making it 23-1.

Captain Billy Root (7) fell to a catch by Mellor off the bowling of Aaron and then Carter (22) was stumped from a Poysden delivery.

It was soon 59-6 as Gibson (8) edged a Matt Davison ball to give Mellor a third catch, Savin Perera (1) was caught at mid-wicket by Adam Hose off Poysden and two balls later Poysden had Liam Patterson-White (0) caught, again by Mellor.

The score had moved on to 82 when Solomon Budinger (19) was caught at mid-wicket by Davison, from Aaron Thomason’s bowling, while Jack Blatherwick (1) was caught behind off Thomson.

After Matt Milnes (1) was adjudged lbw to Thomson, last man Ben Kitt and Connor Marshall (22) at least took Notts to three figures before the latter was bowled by Thomson.

Warwickshire flew out of the blocks in reply as the fifty came up from just 35 balls, but from the fifth ball of the 10th over Pollock drove a ball from Ben Kitt straight to Liam Patterson-White at extra cover.

Andrew Umeed (9 not out) joined Banks and hit a two off the first ball of the 13th over to take the score to the target, the final score 101-1, and a nine-wicket win for Warwickshire.
