Nottinghamshire fast bowler Ben Kitt will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
The 23-year-old signed a two-year professional contract in September 2016, after taking over 100 wickets for the Seconds and Academy that summer.
However, Kitt has had an injury-strewn time in the past couple of years, making only eight appearances for the Second XI in 2018.
Looking back, the seamer believes he has been unlucky during his time at the club.
“Obviously I had the season where I took all those wickets and since then I haven’t really played a game fit, so I think it comes down to a bit of bad luck with timing of injuries,” he said.
“I never really got a niggle it was always a big injury so I’ve spent almost the whole two years I have been contracted injured.
“Obviously, I understand the decision and I’m just thankful I got the chance in the first place.”
On signing his deal, Kitt joined the likes of Jake Libby, Chris Gibson, Tim Wyatt and Charlie Shreck in taking the path from representing Cornwall at junior level to becoming a Notts player.
The right-arm quick has since made Nottingham his home and is thankful for the opportunity he was given.
“Coming up from Cornwall, you come up into a big city and it’s a lot different,” he said.
“I’ve had a great time since I’ve been here and obviously I live here now, I have a flat and it’s where I call home and obviously playing at Trent Bridge you can’t get much better than that, it’s one of the best grounds in the world.”
“I’m looking forward to getting myself fit over the winter and seeing what comes at the start of next season.”
