Ben Slater celebrated making his Nottinghamshire home debut with a century on the opening day of the Specsavers County Championship match against Yorkshire at Trent Bridge.

The left-hander, who joined Notts from Derbyshire last week, scored 109 as Notts posted 332 for seven by stumps.

Slater faced 182 balls, hit 19 boundaries and shared in an opening stand of 182 with Kraigg Brathwaite, who scored 71.

A further new signing, Ben Duckett, was also amongst the runs, crashing 80 from only 89 balls.

Matthew Waite was the pick of the Yorkshire attack, taking three for 72.
