Australia all-rounder Dan Christian is returning for his fifth year with Notts, and fourth as captain, for this year's T20 Vitality Blast.

Christian's place in Outlaws history was assured when he skippered Notts to their first T20 silverware in 2017.

The 36-year-old has continuted to assemble a formidable collection of limited overs trophies this winter, while his T20 statistics bear comparison with the very best to have played the shortest form of the game.

7 T20 titles worldwide

Christian led Notts to the T20 title in 2017, helping to orchestrate wins over Hampshire and Birmingham on finals day.

Indeed, the right-hander's run of T20 success began in England, where he helped Hampshire to the Friends Provident T20 title in 2010.

He went on to scoop the Big Bash title in 2011 with South Australia, and won back the trophy in 2013 with Brisbane Heat.

The big-hitter saved his most destructive BBL stint, however, for the 2019 edition of the tournament.

Man-of-the-match performances in the semi-final and final led Melbourne Renegades to the title, with Christian scoring 254 runs, taking 15 wickets and being named the Renegades’ Player of the Season.

The 36-year-old has also tasted success in the Caribbean Premier League with Trinbago Knight Riders in 2017, and in the South African Mzansi Super League in 2018 with Jozi Stars.

36.34 – Christian’s Outlaws T20 batting average.

Christian’s average is the second highest of anyone for Notts, behind only Adam Voges.

His strike rate of 159.75 is also second-highest (behind Mark Ealham), and is the highest of anybody to have scored at least 500 runs.

The Sydney-born right-hander’s tally of 1163 runs puts him seventh on the all-time list of Outlaws T20 scorers.

Meanwhile, Christian’s bowling has been a valuable weapon in the Outlaws armoury, with the Australian taking 27 wickets at 35.48 – 12th on the all-time list of Notts T20 wicket-takers.

113 – Christian’s Outlaws high score, from 40 balls

Christian’s breathtaking knock was the fastest ever century for the Outlaws, off 37 balls, the second-fastest in T20 Blast history, and the seventh-fastest ever seen in T20 cricket.

Featuring seven fours and nine sixes, the innings remains the highest ever compiled by a Notts batsman in the format, and came in a winning cause against Northants in July 2018.

51 – appearances for Notts in T20 Cricket

He may have a reputation as a globetrotting limited-overs specialist, but Christian has made this corner of England his home over the past few years. He is set to break into the list of the top ten all-time appearance makers for Notts in T20 cricket this season, and has played more T20 games for the Outlaws than for any other team he has represented.

41.50 – Christian’s 2018 T20 blast batting average

Christian’s 2018 season with Notts was statistically the strongest of his career. The right-hander scored more runs at a higher average than in any other season since he made his T20 debut in Australia 14 years ago.
