Opener Ben Slater is enjoying the pressure of anchoring the top of the Outlaws' innings as he looks to capitalise on the couple of starts he has made on the Club's pre-season tour to Potchefstroom to date.

The 27-year-old has made 23 on both outings so far for Nottinghamshire on the tour, against Yorkshire in the two-day match and versus a Titans Invitational with the white ball on Sunday.

Heading into three more days of cricket before flying home, a 50-over game against a local opposition and two days versus Durham, Slater is hopeful of making further contributions ahead of the return to England.

"I'm enjoying the tour so far, it's been nice to come over here get some sun, get outside and train and play a couple of matches," said Slater.

"It's been good to build those partnerships at the top of the order. Obviously I played a few games with Duckett at the back end last year when we had both moved across.

"It was the first time batting with Nashy (Chris Nash) in the 50-over game but we put on a 50 partnership and enjoyed the time out there together.

"It's a bit different playing local sides as you don't know what you are going to come up against but we're going to approach it as we do any other game really and hopefully we can get another win."
