Nottinghamshire all-rounder Peter Trego is setting a bullish tone as he looks ahead to the Bob Willis Trophy fixture against Yorkshire.

“The mentality of this squad is to keep driving forward and keep punching,” states the 39-year-old. “That’s very much driven by Mooresy (Head Coach Peter Moores).

“I would back everyone on the playing staff at this club to go out and put in a performance (against Yorkshire).”

Trego’s pre-match interview also includes an honest appraisal of his individual performance last time out against Derbyshire, as he aims to make an impression on the forthcoming fixture at Trent Bridge.

“I’m desperate to do well,” he says. “I come to Trent Bridge with a long career record, but the slate is clean here.

“I want to repay the faith the management has shown me with performance.”
