Nottinghamshire batsman Haseeb Hameed believes the Green and Golds are in a great position to push on and set up a potential victory after he shared a 200-run opening partnership with Ben Slater on the second day against Leicestershire at the Fischer County Ground.

After bowling Leicestershire out for 222 on the first day, Hameed and Slater put on a double century for the first wicket, in and around rain delays on the second day.

Now, the 23-year-old is hopeful that Notts can set a match-winning total in the first innings, but is aware that it'll be tough going on a pitch that is still offering assistance to the bowlers.
