Nottinghamshire skipper Steven Mullaney is hopeful his side can mount a victory push on the final day of their Bob Willis Trophy clash against Lancashire, after the Green and Golds stormed into the ascendancy on the third day.

The all-rounder's quickfire 67 was the catalyst in Nottinghamshire's efforts when play resumed on day three as Mullaney's side posted 472 in their first innings.

Zak Chappell, Peter Trego and Mullaney all then struck early on in Lancashire's reply to put a spring in the step of the Green and Golds, leaving Lancashire 343 behind at stumps.

Speaking after the close, Mullaney challenged his bowling unit to carry their form into the final day and take the 14 wickets required for victory.
