Jake Ball has been named as a reserve in England’s white-ball party for the forthcoming tour of South Africa.

Ball, who was the country’s leading wicket-taker in the 2020 Vitality Blast, will travel with the England squad for the six-match tour, with three T20Is being followed by a further three one-day encounters.

Ball is one of three reserves, alongside Somerset’s Tom Banton and Middlesex quick Tom Helm.

Meanwhile, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran and Ben Stokes have been rested for the three-match ODI series and will return home after the IT20 series, which begins in Cape Town on 27 November.

The fixtures will take place in a bio-secure environment at Newlands and Boland Park, Paarl.
